Wedding Dress Trends 2025 by Amy Mair

Writer: Amy Mair PhillipsAmy Mair Phillips

Seeking inspiration for your 2025 or 2026 wedding? Allow us to inspire you!

These are 5 trends we predict will dominate the wedding scene in 2025........

  1. Corsets

Corsets have made a comeback, offering a more comfortable and lightweight experience. Traditionally, corsets have been a staple for enhancing a bride's waistline and providing a smooth finish. However, designers are now exploring more creative ways to incorporate them. Comfort is crucial, which is why we use lightweight corsets in some of our gowns. This allows you to achieve a 'cinched' or sculpted appearance without feeling restricted or conscious of the corset's pressure on your body. Corseted wedding dresses are here to stay, let's embrace this movement. Shop our other corseted gowns here.

  1. Basque Waists

Like corsets, basque waists are making a notable comeback in modern fashion, offering a sculpted silhouette that highlights the bust, waist, and hips, complemented by a flowing skirt. This blend of fitted and flowing elements creates an appealing visual contrast. Recently, styles such as 'dropped basque waist' or 'low basque waist' have gained popularity, sitting lower on the waist for an elongated look that enhances elegance. Historically, basque waists were fashionable in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, featured in various formal and evening wear, not just wedding dresses. They provided a dramatic hourglass figure, a trend now revived in contemporary design. Today, designers use luxurious fabrics like taffeta and satin, along with intricate embellishments such as lace and embroidery, elevating the aesthetic for occasions ranging from formal events to sophisticated soirées. The resurgence of the basque waist reflects the cyclical nature of fashion, where historical styles are adapted to contemporary tastes while retaining their classic charm.

  1. Embellishments

Embellished wedding dresses have long been favored by brides who, from the start of their gown search, desire intricate adornments, such as crystals and beadwork, along with textures and layers that boldly stand out. Embellishments can also be small features on gowns that complete the look. Carefully selected beaded motifs and trims can be executed with exceptional taste. These embellishments are often used on the upper part of a wedding gown, such as the bodice, neckline, low back, or sleeves. These features stand out near your face, where most people focus when looking at you on your wedding day. If you know the shape you want in a wedding dress but can't afford high-end couture beadwork, you could look for embellishments on parts of the gown as described.

Our 'Le Jardin Des Fleurs' Bridal Couture Collection 2025 incorporates many of these trends. To see our latest collection, click here.

  1. Lace

We have always thoroughly enjoyed using lace in our designs and it is a feature that will remain in the wedding indsustry and feature in future bridal trends for many years to come. We like to create unique pieces so we try and use lace in the most innovative way possible. More so recently we have started using lace in only selected 'areas' of the gown to offer something original. A combination of lace and satin in our Lotus Wedding Gown is very wearable and romantic, it has a hidden corset which is another of our key trends this season. We also enjoy using and sourcing or manufacturing unique lace trims like on our Plumeria Wedding Gown. Our newest and previous collections feature many of the 2025 wedding dress trends you can shop them all here.
